vetting was, well, fun. i realise that i still dun go well wif technology, what wif sequencers and keybaords that dun react, and wierd configurations YUCKS. give me a month and i shall like them. i hope. haha. or else i'll die mann...
but come to think of it, it was during the vetting day that i realised that MDC exists, actually, without much reason, as in reason in an army. fine, it does save money for SAF, by using MDC instead of private musicians for their functions, and also may earn money for SAF... But apart from that, it actually is there for slackers like me who dun want regimental training.. and with our friends carrying rifles and marching in the sun, there exists me who complains the keyboard is heavy (it actually is okay..) while taking an air con bus, not even a tonner. it does seem unfair to the rest of the guys out there. granted, we're non-combat fit, or most of us arent. but what about the clerks who stay in tekong? for the improvement of our skills as musicians? performers? what about "fight for our land", "children having fun while we are holding guns"? im really pondering about why and what MDC exists for... although yes its a privilege to be there, not to be under the sun. but. still...
haha seems like i like to criticise things that are good to me.. wierd ah? this only represents the views of me so yar... dun ask the rest of the mdc people what they think...
ok 654 is the no. of days to ORD. haha. sad ah. to be counting down from now...

everything is there for a reason
as long as there is a certain demand, there is sure to be a source of supply. so MDC exist for a reason.
well, if a person stop studying for 2 years due to ns, he can continue from where he stop when he ord. however, for a skill in playing an instrument, not practicing for weeks u'll know how bad it'll get already. u'll find ur skills deterioriating and u need time to gain it back.
music/dance is a skill that will take a lifetime to learn and perfect. U can train someone with no military background to become a soldier in 2 year. But can u create a concert musician within 2 years?
So i guess, MDC serve a purpose of "protecting" the talented ppl also. but i think the coverage is still not wide enough. like only pes C ppl can go MDC.
Singapore is planning to set up an arts school, so if nothing is done to the policy , singapore is going to lose alot of talanted ppl they train themselves due to NS.
